Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using PitchPal ("the Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must review and accept these terms on your behalf.

2. What PitchPal Is

PitchPal is a peer-to-peer platform that connects youth soccer players ("mentees") with older youth players ("mentors") for paid training sessions. PitchPal is not a licensed coaching service, sports organization, or childcare provider.

PitchPal does not employ mentors. Mentors are independent individuals who set their own rates and availability.

3. Eligibility

  • PitchPal is designed for youth players of all ages. Mentees may be any age; mentors must be high school students. All users under 18 must have a parent or guardian's involvement to create an account.
  • A parent or guardian must attest to the player's date of birth and consent to the child's use of the Platform during signup.
  • By registering, you confirm that the information you provide, including your date of birth, is accurate. For users under 18, a parent or guardian must attest to the accuracy of this information.

4. Mentor Verification

PitchPal manually verifies the league enrollment of every mentor before they are approved to accept mentees. Mentors are required to submit their club name, team, and a screenshot of their official player profile from their league's public website (e.g., mlsnext.com, ecnlboys.com, ecnlgirls.com).

Our team cross-references this information against official league rosters. Mentors who pass verification receive a ✓ Verified badge on their profile. Unverified mentors cannot accept new connections until verification is complete.

While we take verification seriously, PitchPal does not conduct formal background checks. Parents and guardians are encouraged to review mentor profiles and communicate directly before scheduling sessions. PitchPal makes no warranty regarding mentor conduct during or outside of sessions.

5. Sessions and Payments

  • Session prices are set by individual mentors and displayed on their profiles.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. PitchPal does not store payment card information.
  • Refund requests for sessions must be submitted within 24 hours of a cancelled or no-show session.
  • PitchPal may charge a platform fee on transactions. Any applicable fees will be disclosed before checkout.

6. Adult Supervision Requirement

A responsible adult (parent or guardian) must be physically present for the entire duration of every training session involving a mentee. Sessions may not commence or continue without an adult on-site. This requirement applies to all sessions regardless of location, mentee age, or prior relationship between the parties.

By scheduling a session, the mentee's parent or guardian confirms they will remain present for the full session. Mentors must not begin a session if no responsible adult is present.

7. Code of Conduct

All users agree to:

  • Treat all users with respect, regardless of age, gender, or skill level.
  • Not share personal contact information (phone numbers, home addresses) with other users outside of what is needed for session logistics.
  • Not engage in or facilitate any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate contact.
  • Conduct all sessions in appropriate, visible public or semi-public locations.

Violations may result in immediate account termination.

8. Reporting and Blocking

Users may report any profile or message for conduct that violates these Terms or our Safety Policy, including inappropriate behavior, harassment or bullying, spam or scam attempts, fake or misleading profiles, safety concerns, or suspected underage users. Reports are reviewed by PitchPal, and we may take action including warnings, content removal, or account suspension.

Users may also block other profiles from within the app. Blocked users cannot view your profile, send you messages, or request sessions with you.

Submitting a report with knowingly false information is itself a violation of these Terms and may result in action against the reporter.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PITCHPAL AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, INCLUDING DAMAGES ARISING FROM:

  • Physical injury or harm occurring during or related to a session.
  • Inaccurate mentor representations or credentials.
  • Any actions or omissions of mentors or mentees.
  • Payment disputes between users.

You use the Platform and arrange sessions at your own risk.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PitchPal and its operators from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the Platform, your sessions, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Account Termination

PitchPal reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account at any time for violations of these Terms or our Safety Policy, or for any conduct we determine to be harmful to the community.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify users of material changes via email.
